chief-web overview with three sessions building and the stats of the last two weeks

chief-web builds features for me. I describe a feature to Claude Code in a browser terminal and it writes a PRD: a list of small user stories. chief-web then builds the stories one agent run at a time, commits after each one and opens a pull request.

It is a web version of chief. I wanted several features building at once in the background, so every session gets its own Docker container, clone and branch. Since the end of August it has run 223 sessions and opened 214 pull requests.

Some highlights:

  • Parallel stories: an agent works out which stories depend on each other, and the independent ones build side by side in their own git worktree.

  • Asks instead of guessing: a build stops when it hits a decision only I can make.

  • Recurring tasks: a prompt on a cron schedule, like running Rector and Pint every three days.

  • Sentry fixes: it proposes a fix plan per error and builds the ones I approve.

  • Code review: it reviews its own pull requests, answers review comments and fixes merge conflicts.

A build with two stories running in parallel:

The parallel stories feature was built by chief-web itself:

It is a personal project that I vibe coded on purpose, and it needs the Docker socket and runs agents with --dangerously-skip-permissions. The code is on GitHub.
